I landed a week ago and have spent the time adjusting to weather, time zone, language, living with five others and just a whole different culture, feel and daily rhythm. The kids have been super excited to see me, especially Bella who hardly will leave me alone for a second. Even when going to the bathroom or having a shower. This is a common dialogue:
- "Tante Natre!! (her current name on me) Where are you?!"
Me: - "I'm in the bathroom, Bellis, I'll be out in a minute!"
(30 seconds later)
- "Tante Natre! Are you finished yet?!"
...
- "Can I come in?!"
Me: - "Hang on, Bella, almost done!"
(10 seconds later)
- "Tante Natre!!! Are you coming?!"
...
- "Do you want to play with me, tante Natre?!"
And on it goes, every day, until I'm coming out.
I love it!
At the airport. On my way. Arriving late Wednesday night and heading for Starbucks, then my new home. Magnar and Christina opening presents from Norway - clothes, goat cheese (brunost), Norwegian interior design, candy, spices, letter and card. What a treat!
Starbucks, Banyan Tree Café, coffée-shops-overlooking-ocean... What did we ever do before coffée shops came around?!?
Magnar and Kaleb competing in a computer game!! *feels like home*
Besides adjusting, this is what my days have been filled with. Sitting in the trendy Banyan Tree Café on the YWAM base (Youth with a mission), being inspired by the flags of all the nations here to write my essay on Asian Christianity.
Isabella and me - BFF!!! Heart heart...
This is great! And it would be amazing to be in Hawaii at this time of year. Thank you for blogging in English!!
